The National Print Committee, the Amateurs d’Estampes association along with the Chambre Syndicale de l’Estampe, du Dessin et du Tableau have joined forces to award an annual prize, the Prize Henri Beraldi, for a doctoral thesis on printmaking defended at a French university, or a book (essay or catalog raisonné) published in France. Exhibition catalogs are not eligible. Entries are examined by a scientific committee. The Print Research Prize is awarded to the winner on the occasion of the Paris Print Fair. Composition of the Scientific Committee (2024) : Ex-officio members: : the president of the national Print Committee (M. Philippe Sénéchal), the president of the Amateurs d’Estampes association (M. Joseph de Colbert), the president of the Chambre Syndicale de l’Estampe, du Dessin et du Tableau (M. Christian Collin). The work must have been published in the calendar year preceding the award; the thesis must have been defended in the calendar year preceding the award. (i.e. December 31, 2023 for the 2024 prize). If no entries are deemed worthy, no prize is awarded. Conversely, if two entries are ranked ex-aequo, two winners are chosen and the prize money is halved. In the case of a thesis, prizewinners must mention the award in the published version. In the case of a published work, this mention must appear in the publisher’s publicity material. Applications must include : a curriculum vitae, including a full list to of publications and scientific activities, and an electronic version of the thesis or book (pdf file or printed copy).
